If you are in need of a new pick up truck (and let’s not kid ourselves, there is always a need) then we think you should check out the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Although the exterior has maintained the same look and feel that you are used to seeing on a Silverado, there have been a number of changes that make this truck unique.
The 5.3-liter V-8 delivers 355-horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,100 rpm. Acceleration is strong and shifts from the Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic are nearly imperceptible. Chevrolet also offers a 4.3-liter V-6 and, coming soon, a larger 6.2-liter V-8. For many buyers, however, this mid-size 5.3-liter should hit the sweet spot of power and economy. In this configuration, the Silverado offers a maximum payload rating of 2,007 lbs. and 9,800 lbs. of towing capacity with the 3.42 axle ratio. An optional trailering package can bump this last figure up to 11,400 lbs.
