The City of Los Angeles California has moved forwards towards a greener, cleaner city by unveiling their new fleet of Compressed Natural Gas Taxis.
California Yellow Cab of Orange County put its first 10 Transit Connect Taxis into service – marked by an event celebrating the increased presence of CNG use in California. Clean Energy, which owns and operates CNG filling stations, also participated in the event.
Los Angeles will be replacing about 100 gas guzzling taxis with CNG cars by the end of 2012. The goal of California Yellow Cab is to eventually replace it’s entire fleet of gas cars with “green alternatives.”
