Lexus has decided to get rid of their IS200d from the Lexus line up and replace it with a hybrid option instead. When asked to comment on why they are getting rid of their diesel line, they suggest that they are looking for cleaner alternatives than diesel.
“Lexus has made a strategic decision to go down the hybrid route and not have diesels. That sets us apart from everyone else and it also means that, across the range, we have the lowest CO 2 emissions in the premium segment.”
The new Lexus IS300h will replace the IS200d.
