The Nissan Versa has been a great success for Nissan.
Nissan has just introduced pricing for its 2012 Versa subcompact hatchback, coming in $15,140 including the $760 destination charge. The 2012 Versa hatch is not, however, an all-new model like the sedan, but simply a carryover model from the 2011 model year. An all-new Versa hatch will make its appearance sometime next year.
The 2012 Versa hatchback is available in two trim levels: the $15,140 1.8 S and the $19,150 1.8 SL, both with a 1.8-liter inline-four producing 122 hp and 127 lb-ft of torque. The 1.8 S comes with the choice of a six-speed manual or a four-speed automatic (a $1000 option), and the 1.8 SL comes only with Nissan’s continuously variable transmission. The 2012 Versa hatchback is rated as high as 28/34 mpg city/highway when equipped with the CVT.
