The large majority of the world is familiar with Amazon. Amazon is an online shopping site that is packed with electronics, apparel, books, tools, and that is truly just naming a few.
You can pretty much find anything that you are looking for on Amazon, and soon, you might even be able to find the car of your dreams and purchase it.
Fiat Chrysler announced that it is partnering with Amazon to sell cars online through the online shopping outlet. As of right now, you will only be able to purchase these cars in Italy. Three models are being offered: the Panda, the 500, and the 500L.
A buyer will be able to shop for the car of their choice on Amazon and click on their choice.
At that point, they will be contacted by Amazon to complete the process. Amazon will have the buyer choose a dealership where they will pick up the car from in just two short weeks. The dealership will still be benefiting from the sale of the car; Amazon will just be where you shop for the car itself and serve as the payment “middleman.”
Not all of the details have been ironed out yet but it is certainly going to be a reality in Italy and is now being put into place.
In France, customers are already able to pay a car down payment through Amazon after a short phone interview.
Many people are thrilled at the news of car shopping from the comfort of their own home and being able to browse and research cars at their leisure.
Buyers would only have to leave their home to pick the car up from the dealership.
Although this concept is not being implemented into the United States yet, it could just be a matter of time. There are hurdles regarding specific dealer franchise laws and it would take time to develop in the states but it is not out of reach.
