Lamborghini, an Italian manufacturer best known for producing luxury and sport vehicles, released details on their upcoming SUV which is expected to be a very popular model.
The 2019 Urus Lamborghini will be the first turbocharged Lamborghini as well as the fastest sport-utility vehicle in the world once released.
The 2019 Urus will be equipped with 650 horsepower and a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The engine will likely improve fuel economy and create low-end torque. The Urus will be a relatively light vehicle, making it capable of reaching high speeds. The Lamborghini SUV is expected to reach 187 miles per hour minimum, making it one of the fastest SUV’s to date.
The 2019 Urus will eventually be available as a plug-in hybrid model as well. However, it is unlikely that the hybrid version will reflect a high-performance model; it is likely being created to provide better fuel economy to those who want it.
The SUV is closely related to several other luxury-based SUV’s including the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga, and Porsche Cayenne. However, this SUV will likely reach faster speeds and have more high-end capabilities.
The production of the 2019 Urus SUV is happening at the Lamborghini plant in Sant’Agata Bolognese BO, Italy. In fact, the plant is expanding in order to make enough room for this specific project. More details on the 2019 Urus, including visuals, will be released in December 2017.
The SUV should be released to the United States in fall of 2019 at around $200,000 to start. Lamborghini will be releasing over 1,000 unites of the Urus in 2018, gradually increasing that number in time.
