About 70 percent of all Porsche cars that have been manufactured over the course of the last 70 years are still out on the road today which speaks to how well most Porsche cars are made.
Porsche recently introduced Tech Look Live, a new technological feature that is going to allow the mechanics at Porsche dealerships to connect directly with Porsche repair technicians located at the company’s U.S. headquarters in Atlanta.
Porsche is hoping that this service will offer future customers and current Porsche owners a simple solution to maintenance and increase loyalty to the Porsche brand.
Porsche is attempting to jumpstart Tech Look Live by sending all 189 U.S. Porsche dealerships augmented-reality glasses that can be used as part of the program. When a mechanic is wearing the AR glasses, they will be able to touch base with a Porsche specialist in Atlanta who will be able to walk them through any tough repair job. The specialist will be able to see what the mechanic sees and supply them with tips as far as making repairs to a vehicle. The specialist will also be able to problem-solve along with the mechanic in order to work through any difficulties that might arise.
By taking this new approach to making repairs, Porsche is going to set itself apart from other car manufacturers. They’re also likely going to encourage other auto makers to consider using AR as part of their own repair processes. It could help mechanics industry-wise with repair issues and change the way that auto dealerships are providing better service to customers.
